The optional FSI Multi-Site Software Module allows pharmacies under common ownership, in one geographical area to combine the functionality of the FSI Pharmacy Management System into one common database, yet preserving the integrity of all the individual sites according to practice, cost center financial statistics along with state and federal pharmacy regulations.

By combining the patient, doctor and prescription files into one database on a host computer, patients can readily be served at either pharmacy in full compliance with OBRA regulations of complete drug utilization review procedures.  Since all prescriptions are available under one common database monitoring and patient counseling can all be accommodated with each script processed.

The system uses common files for the patient, doctor, sig and prescription files.  Optional files that may be common or separate include the third party billing and reconciliation files and the optional accounts receivable module.  The way these files are set up allows for either centralized processing or site processing of the receivables, either private pay A/R or third party.

Transfer of patient prescriptions is noted electronically for refills if refilled at a site location different that the initial filling if needed for compliance to local regulations.

Communications between the sites is handled through either wide area TCP/IP networking or serial communications.  Third party claim adjudication is now available using frame-relay technology in as little as 5 seconds per claim to all terminals on the system for even greater productivity.

The file server computer and network can be configured with as much redundancy and security as needed in the circumstances required.  From totally mirrored servers and or hard disks to just simple correct backup procedures.
